The parents of the children attending the pre-school in the premises of the IPSA (International Primary School Almere) can all attest how extraordinary the teachers have been in terms of educating, caring and nurturing our children, but we also understand the financial reasons behind this business decision (less pupils in the waiting list + a high rent), which is why we proposed the current provider, Partou, to consider these alternatives before closing the pre-school:
Starting from September, opening the pre-school with 8 kids per 1 teacher (respecting thus the ratio for this specific age group) with a waiting list for additional applications. The 2nd teacher would be reintroduced once the desired number of students was reached. In September we have 8 children; some want to stay for an extended period of time;
Parent participation: one parent would be present at the location every day in order to assist the teacher whenever needed;
A (more aggressive) marketing campaign: almost nobody knows the pre-school exists. At the Almere Gemeente website, as an example, there is no mention of this pre-school at all. We recommended an open day every quarter, marketed across expat groups and forums, informing everyone about the school and its benefits, in order to boost applications. The first open day could be held in July before the expected end of school. The parents were willing to help advertising not only the pre-school but also the open day;
If feasible, opening a BSO at the location in the afternoons to boost profits and somehow compensate for the pre-school lowest months;
Partou believes these suggestions are good, but the rent is still too high. The parents have tried to get a reaction from the Gemeente, but haven't managed to get one yet. We do not ask for subsidies, but the Gemeente has a say in this matter. We are sure that "where there is a will, there is a way".
There are no bilingual pre-schools or centers where English can be taught to children of these ages, so we will keep on looking into all possibilities to keep this facility open.
De Nationale Bond tegen Overheidszaken heeft een zeer succesvolle actie afgerond inzake de aansprakelijkheidsstelling tegen de telecom bedrijven en de overheid.
Hiertoe zijn in totaal 3.349 op naam gezette aangetekend schrijven verstuurd die persoonlijk zijn gericht tegen o.a. de drie directeuren van de betrokken telecom bedrijven.
De aansprakelijkheidsstelling houd in dat, indien de telecom bedrijven binnen een straal van 150 mtr. van de betreffende woning(en) een antenne plaatsen zij een boete van euro 2.000,-- per dag verschuldigd zijn aan de indiener (zijn de een van de 3.349 personen die hieraan mee hebben gedaan).Zodoende kan de schade oplopen tot meerdere miljarden!...

Nog geen 24 uur later en ten tijde van dit schrijven hebben 864 mensen deze petitie ondertekend. Het is dus wel degelijk mogelijk om “de burgers” te betrekken bij onderwerpen die hun aangaan! Het door dit bestuur op papier nagestreefde doel om “de burger” meer te betrekken bij de politieke onderwerpen, vindt in deze petitie een mooi voorbeeld hoe dat op een laagdrempelige wijze is in te vullen.

Zij hadden een voorstel om ouderen niet meer te verzorgen bij een bepaalde leeftijd. Voorheen pilletje van minster Els Borst. De organisatie vd petitie roept op tot samenwerking met alle natuur organisaties en natuurliefhebbers in Nederland en alle burgers om met zijn allen kracht bij te zetten en de falende onwetende regering Rutte III ertoe DRINGEND te bewegen ZSM te stoppen met hun wanbeleid zoals het financieren van het wegkappen van onze bossen en bomen die worden verstookt in de zwaar vervuilende biomassa centrales.

On Friday we had good news.
The State Secretary of Justice and Security in the Netherlands communicated that a non-EU citizen can claim the TOZO benefit without any negative consequences on their right of residence in the Netherlands.
A translation of the announcement by immigration lawyer Jeremy Bierbach:
"[They] will make an exception for non-EU citizens with a residence permit for definite time [i.e.
a non-permanent residence permit] with the purpose ‘work in self-employment’ who claim a benefit based on the Temporary Bridging Scheme for Self-Employed Entrepreneurs (TOZO). Considering the special circumstances and the temporary nature of the scheme, claiming a benefit based on this scheme will not have any consequences for the right of residence of the non-EU citizen in question."
Note: It's still unclear whether the TOZO support that all ZZP'ers can now claim can or will count towards the annual income requirement for non-EU freelancers that's a condition of one's residence permit (the freelance working visa / “arbeid als zelfstandige”). This petition calls for an exemption from the visa's income requirements (approx €15,000 p/a) during the pandemic. An alternative and also positive outcome would be if the TOZO support counted towards the income requirement.
