The parents of the children attending the pre-school in the premises of the IPSA (International Primary School Almere) can all attest how extraordinary the teachers have been in terms of educating, caring and nurturing our children, but we also understand the financial reasons behind this business decision (less pupils in the waiting list + a high rent), which is why we proposed the current provider, Partou, to consider these alternatives before closing the pre-school:
Starting from September, opening the pre-school with 8 kids per 1 teacher (respecting thus the ratio for this specific age group) with a waiting list for additional applications. The 2nd teacher would be reintroduced once the desired number of students was reached. In September we have 8 children; some want to stay for an extended period of time;
Parent participation: one parent would be present at the location every day in order to assist the teacher whenever needed;
A (more aggressive) marketing campaign: almost nobody knows the pre-school exists. At the Almere Gemeente website, as an example, there is no mention of this pre-school at all. We recommended an open day every quarter, marketed across expat groups and forums, informing everyone about the school and its benefits, in order to boost applications. The first open day could be held in July before the expected end of school. The parents were willing to help advertising not only the pre-school but also the open day;
If feasible, opening a BSO at the location in the afternoons to boost profits and somehow compensate for the pre-school lowest months;
Partou believes these suggestions are good, but the rent is still too high. The parents have tried to get a reaction from the Gemeente, but haven't managed to get one yet. We do not ask for subsidies, but the Gemeente has a say in this matter. We are sure that "where there is a will, there is a way".
There are no bilingual pre-schools or centers where English can be taught to children of these ages, so we will keep on looking into all possibilities to keep this facility open.

Website JAJA2013Op 12 juni is er weer een raadsbijeenkomst in Lelystad m.b.t. het Aldersadvies over Lelystad Airport. Om 19:00uur is er een extra Oordeelsvormende-Sessie 1 in de Presentatiezaal (omdat de raadsleden op 29 mei te weinig tijd hadden). Behandeling: De mogelijkheid om in te spreken heeft reeds plaatsgevonden op 29 mei, zodat nu alleen raadsleden vragen kunnen stellen aan het college en aan elkaar.
Tevens is er ruimte voor debat. Tijdens de sessie inventariseert de voorzitter of er fracties zijn die een motie of amendement willen indienen. De fracties geven de strekking van het amendement of de motie weer. Afgesloten wordt met een conclusie over de vraag of het voorstel gereed is voor besluitvorming in de raad (en zo ja, als A-stuk of B-stuk). Daarna volgt op de zelfde avond nog het raadsbesluit over dit collegevoorstel (punt 8 van de besluitvormende vergadering).

Na een week zijn er 168 personen die de petitie hebben ondertekend. In Nederland zijn ongeveer 12.000.000 stemgerechtigden.
Om de petitie daadwerkelijk aan te bieden richt ik me op een minimum aantal ondertekeningen van 120.000 personen. Dit is 1% van de stemgerechtigden in Nederland. Ik hoop dat iedereen zijn uiterste best wil doen om minimaal dit aantal petitionairs te halen.

De stand van de Petitie is op 22 mei, voor de Raadsvergadering , aan de Raadsleden medegedeeld. 506 ondertekenaars van de petitie. Incl.
ondertekenaars zonder e-mail adres is het totaal 618. De Raad heeft met grote meerderheid vóór het Gebiedsakkoord Grenscorridor N69 gestemd, zonder enig voorbehoud te maken. Wel werden er ten faveure van het fietspad over de oude spoorbaan een amendement en een motie ingediend, doch deze werden niet aangenomen. Alhoewel de Raad ook in meerderheid tegen het fietspad was, heeft toch het alles of niets dreigement de doorslag gegeven. Oproep aan Valkenswaard De volgende stap is de actie naar Valkenswaard te verbreden. Het doel is de totale petitie van Waalre en Valkenswaard aan de leden van de Provinciale Staten te overhandigen vóór 22 juni, het moment waarop zij het besluit zullen nemen.
