De bank is in 1930 in het centrum van Hillegom geplaatst als herinnering aan burgemeester Dirk Wentholt. De bank is een poos terug verplaatst naar een plek waar hij absoluut niet tot zijn recht komt.

Wij inwoners en oud inwoners van de gemeente Hillegom
establish that:
- De burgemeester Wentholtbank, De Bank, is een monument dat respect geniet.
- De bank hoort niet op de plek waar hij nu staat.
- De oorspronkelijke plek is die voor de koningin Wilhelminaboom op het plein in het centrum.

dat zij de burgemeester Wentholtbank terug plaatst op de oorspronkelijke plek.
