Deposits on everything

No other form of waste collection is as effective as using deposits. There is always someone who will return the container when it is worth money.

This should become the norm within the entire EU, also to set the example for the rest of the world.

Like this very little garbage remains. And someone will show up on your doorstep to buy your garbagebag.

establish that:

  • litter

  • 'plastic soup'

  • single use packaging

  • reusable garbage you can not return anywhere

  • too little recycling and too many land fills and too much garbage incineration

 

and request

deposits on all packaging and non-food consumer goods in Europe.

Door de artikelen in onder andere Trouw over statiegeld, en de eventuele uitbreiding hiervan, rijst bij lezer Bram Kloos de vraag waarom niet alle verpakkingen eenvoudig eigendom blijven van de fabrikant.

Onderzoek zegt het, statiegeld is beter

De staatssecretaris vroeg om een onderzoek. Wat kost het invoeren van statiegeld en wat levert het op? Het kost een beetje, maar dat kan uit omdat het heel veel oplevert.

Vooral voor de maatschappij. Zwerfafval verdwijnt grotendeels. Maar daar heeft de industrie natuurlijk geen boodschap aan: de industrie is vooral tegen.

De supermarkten via het Centraal Bureau Levensmiddelen zijn tegen omdat zij dure machines moeten aanschaffen om spul dat elders is gekocht in te nemen.

Nederland Schoon, de verpakkingsindustrie neemt ook afstand van het rapport omdat ze kritiek hebben op hoe het rapport tot stand kwam.
