Stop demolishing the almost 100 year old neighborhood 'Kolkakkerbuurt?'

We

Residents of the Kolkakkerbuurt neighborhood, citizens of Ede, supporters and lovers of heritage,

establish that:

• The municipality of Ede sees the Kolkakkerbuurt as part of the Cultural and Historical Value of Ede and part of Ede's cultural history.
• Woonstede wants to demolish these homes and make way for new buildings in a mix of terraced houses with small gardens and apartments.
• The unique design of the district, the diversity in housing, historic garden village character and the Ede Cultural historical value will be lost.

• The municipality of Ede to guarantee the preservation and restoration of this unique neighborhood.
• Recent research has shown that architectural renovation of these houses is possible and are not more expensive than demolition and new construction.
• We request the municipality of Ede to help preserve this unique pre-World War II neighborhood by ordering the owner to renovate these houses, and thus ensuring the cultural and historical value for Ede.
