In the spirit of great historical awareness and respect for all those who made the liberation of the Netherlands possible, the municipality of Son en Breugel deserves a Bailey Bridge monument at a location near the current hefbrug. Unfortunately, this has not yet been realized.

representatives of the international community
establish that:
- it is of great historical importance that justice is done to the British 30th Corps and the American 101st Airborne Division, which enabled the Allies to advance and carry out Operation Market Garden.
- the fact that this operation ultimately failed only increases the importance of a monument.
- the article of November 19 in the MooiSonenBreugel Krant this shows.
and request
- to place the following proposal on the agenda of the municipal council: placement of the Bailey Bridge Monument near the Hefbrug over the Wilhelmina Canal to commemorate Market Garden on September 18 and 19, 1944, in Son en Breugel.
- the municipal council to approve the proposal to place the Bailey Bridge Monument near the Hefbrug.
