In the 5th block of the second semester the ACASA made a mandatory course of 6 ECTs which involves an excursion abroad for which the students have to pay an approximate sum of 500 euros.
We, the ACASA students, are gathering signatures to boycott the course as a whole.
Due to the uncertaity of the organisation and the finances of the excursion, plus the upcoming excavation, the ACASA students wish for the course to become optional. Many students cannot afford to go abroad for an extended amount of time due to issues regarding time, finances and availability. Taking into consideration all of the issues that students have to face while living in Amsterdam, we believe it is unjust to expect students to be available and financially stable enough to partake in the course.
We request that the course becomes optional and that a substitute course can be taken by students who cannot afford going to the excursion.
